  • Why should I book directly on this website?

    Booking direct means you're dealing with us at the motel — best available rate, no third-party fees, and a direct line to reception if you need to make changes.

  • Can I check in late or after reception hours?

    Yes — we offer 24-hour check-in (conditions apply). Please contact us in advance to arrange your arrival.

  • Where do I park?

    Free off-street parking is available at the door of most rooms — except the Small Queen (External Bathroom), which does not have its own off-street parking.

  • Are all rooms on the ground floor?

    Yes — there are no stairs at Kalua Motel.

  • Do you have free Wi-Fi?

    Yes — free Wi-Fi is available.

  • Do rooms have a TV?

    Yes — Smart TVs are in all rooms.

  • Do the rooms have a microwave / fridge?

    Yes — every room has tea and coffee- making facilities and a microwave. The Small Queen rooms have a small fridge.

  • What's the difference between the Queen Room and the Small Queen?

    Both rooms have a queen bed, but the Small Queen is a more compact room — perfect for a budget-friendly stay. The standard Queen Room is more spacious.

  • What is the Small Queen (External Bathroom)?

    This room features a queen bed and free Wi-Fi, but the bathroom is located down the hallway rather than in the room. It also does not have its own off-street parking. It's our most affordable option and best suited to a short, simple stay.

  • Are children welcome?

    Yes — our Family Room sleeps up to 4 with a queen and two single beds.

  • Where are you located?

    We're at 4A Hinkler Avenue, Bundaberg QLD 4670 — close to the main route into town and within easy reach of the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, the Hinkler Hall of Aviation (just down the road on the avenue named after our hometown aviator), and the turtle beaches at Mon Repos.

  • How do I get to Mon Repos Turtle Centre?

    Mon Repos is about a 15-minute drive from the motel — head east through Bundaberg and follow the signs toward Bargara. The turtle nesting season runs  from November to March each year; bookings are essential.

  • Is the motel close to the beach?

    Bargara Beach is about a 15–20 minute drive from the motel — Bundaberg's main beach precinct, with cafés, restaurants, and a great swimming reef.
